Local AI Browser History Search: What Works Offline
Understand local AI browser history search, offline setup, keyword search and Pro semantic results, without confusing a searchable archive with saved webpages.
What local AI search means
A local model compares your query with indexed page information on your device. It can help with a remembered topic whose exact title is unfamiliar, but a semantic match can be wrong. Check the title, website and destination before deciding it is the page you wanted.
What you need before searching offline
Install Seekmory, open it and let it import the available history. The model and inference runtime ship inside the extension; there is no runtime model download. Background indexing takes time and device resources. Keyword search can work before that indexing finishes.
Keyword search and semantic results
Free searches titles, URLs and available short summaries with basic keyword matching and filters. After indexing, Free can show up to three Pro Preview results. Pro provides full hybrid search, including semantic matching. Neither mode searches complete page bodies, and AI cannot retrieve information that was never stored.
What still needs an internet connection
Searching existing local records and checking an activation key work offline. Installing or updating the extension, buying or recovering a license, and opening a live destination website require connectivity. An archived title, URL and summary are not an offline copy of the original webpage.
Questions and answers
How can I check offline search?
After import, search for a known archived title. Disconnect, repeat the query and inspect the local results. For Pro semantic search, let indexing finish first. Opening the original website is a separate operation.
Does local AI send my history to a server?
Seekmory’s extension keeps history, queries, embeddings and indexes on the device. This is separate from the public website’s GA4 analytics and the online purchase service, which are described in the privacy policy.
